Common Interview Questions for Manager, Patient Safety
Prepare for your interview by reviewing these frequently asked questions. Click on a question to reveal the answer.
Can you describe your experience in managing Safety Data Exchange Agreements (SDEAs) and the key challenges you have faced?
I have managed SDEAs for over three years across co‑licensing, co‑development and distribution partnerships. The key challenges include aligning differing regulatory expectations, maintaining up‑to‑date trackers, and ensuring timely execution of obligations. I addressed these by establishing a centralized SDEA database, conducting quarterly reviews with partners, and implementing a risk‑based escalation matrix to resolve discrepancies promptly.
How do you ensure that Pharmacovigilance System Master Files (PSMFs) remain inspection‑ready at all times?
I adopt a continuous maintenance approach: the PSMF is segmented by region, each segment has a designated owner, and updates are triggered by regulatory changes, product lifecycle events or internal audits. I conduct monthly self‑inspections, use version control, and maintain a change‑log that links updates to supporting documentation, ensuring that any reviewer can trace the rationale behind each entry.
What steps do you take to design an effective global PV training program?
First, I perform a training needs analysis across functions and regions. Then I develop a curriculum aligned with GVP modules, incorporate interactive case studies, and use a blended learning model (e‑learning, live webinars, on‑the‑job coaching). I embed competency assessments, track completion via an LMS, and review metrics quarterly to identify gaps and refresh content based on regulatory updates.
